BIO OF MABEL DARKO
Mabel Darko, since a youth in her University days has made consistent imprints in the lives of many youth and adults. His infectious commitment to share Christ becomes evident to all who encounter her.
She started work as a secondary school teacher in Sierra Leone. Apart from her teaching roles, she enrolled in the Kingdom Service Programs as mentor to Scripture Union Groups in some Secondary Schools in Sierra Leone. She has won a lot of youth for Christ who are now playing major roles in their Church organizations.
Relocating to Ghana with her husband, Rev Dr. Nicholas Darko and their Children, she worked as Business Development Manager/Trainer in a Management Consultancy firm. She has led training programs in the public and private sectors in Ghana. This include senior and middle level staff from banks, para-state organizations and other major corporates. She has also presented at international women conferences.
She later co-founded Parousia Consult, through which she organized training and other related services. However, as a Pastor’s wife, she supports her husband’s role. She plays a vital role in mobilizing and teaching the Women Ministry Members of the Church of Pentecost. She was the Pastors’ Wives representative of the National Executive Committee of the Women’s Ministry of the Church of Pentecost. Prior to that, she served as the first National Women’s Leader of the Church of Pentecost in Sierra Leone.
She has spoken to various Women, Youth Groups and the Corporate Sector. As a qualified counsellor, she continues to be a great resource to those in need of her services. Mabel’s writings sooths the hearts of those in need. For a long time, she preached on various radio stations which attracted a lot of audience. You may check her blog for a few of her writings. Her book, “The Road To Retirement” provides coaching and guide towards retirement.
Mabel holds a Masters Degree in Adult Education from the University of Ghana, Legon (2002) and Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Sierra Leone’s Fourah Bay College (1985). She has also undertaken Certificate Studies in Leadership and Counselling. And another in Counselling and Family Therapy from the Pentecost University. She undertook Group Dynamics Training as the University of Graz’s School of Social Competence in Austria. She has attended many other courses.
Mabel is married to Rev Dr Nicholas Darko and they have two adult sons, and raised a few other children in their home.
